The Plastic Age

We’ve heard about the stone age and the bronze age. And since everything nowadays is made out of plastic. It seems obvious that we are currently living in the plastic age. But despite all the efforts of recycling, we must ask ourselves, how does all this plastic ends up in our oceans?

There are quite a few organisations and projects that try to reduce the amount of plastic floating around in our oceans. But somewhere in between. In the middle of recycling and cleaning up the litter. It still goes wrong.

A recent study estimates that more than a quarter of all that waste could be pouring in from just 10 rivers. Better waste collection and management practices in the most polluted regions would help stem the tide.
